Governor Little continues commission for volunteerism

Tuesday September 3, 2019

Boise, Idaho – Governor Brad Little issued his latest executive order today continuing Serve Idaho, the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism.

“There are few things in life as rewarding as service to others. Volunteers in our communities, schools, and churches across the state play an important role in making Idaho the place where our children and grandchildren choose to stay,” Governor Little said.

Serve Idaho’s primary focus is to promote and coordinate the role of service and volunteerism in the state, including funding AmeriCorps programs throughout Idaho. The commission is funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service and is housed within the Idaho Department of Labor. Serve Idaho also assists organizations seeking to expand their ability to meet critical community needs through volunteer service. The commission was established in 1994.
