Boise, Idaho – Governor Brad Little announced two new appointments today.

Governor Little appointed Andrea Courtney to the Third Judicial District bench, serving Canyon County. Courtney has been a Deputy Attorney General in the Natural Resources Division of the Office of Attorney General Lawrence Wasden for more than 10 years. She earned her law degree and a Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University.

“I am grateful Governor Little entrusts me with this solemn role in the third branch of government. I am excited and honored to serve the people of Idaho from Canyon County,” Courtney said.

Governor Little also reappointed Kathy Simpson to the Idaho Judicial Council, where she has served since 2014. Simpson’s work experience includes 15 years in the financial service industry and 20 years at the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls.

“Being a member of the Council has given me insight and understanding into the workings of our judicial system and the people of Idaho that it serves. I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Council for a second term as the public member,” Simpson said.

“Andrea and Kathy bring a great deal of experience to their positions, and I am grateful for their service to the citizens of Idaho,” Governor Little said.
